The future’s clean and bright

At VIDA we know you don’t want dentistry, just a healthy set of natural teeth. We also know that with the best care your teeth can last a lifetime, yet this requires a firm commitment from you to regular dental appointments including hygiene visits.

At VIDA we recommend hygiene appointments regularly to remove plaque and calculus from the teeth and gum line. For most of us, (dentists and hygienists included!) this means an appointment at least every 6 months.

Our hygienists will help motivate you, gently clean away calculus (tartar) from your gum line and make sure you leave with a clear plan for caring for your teeth and gums at home.

When a hygienist polishes your teeth this reduces the effects of surface stain and may make your teeth appear brighter.

Prevent decay with Fissure sealants

Hygienists can apply fluoride and fissure sealants under the prescription of a dentist and this reduces the likelihood of you needing fillings in future. Fissure sealants can be provided in patients as young as 6 years and many young patients find this a pleasant introduction to dentistry.

Family care

Gum disease can lead to tooth loss in patients who are particularly susceptible. You may have people in your family who have suffered tooth loss from gum disease and this susceptibility does run in families.

Learning to Care appointments FOR CHILDREN

At VIDA we promote children establishing a relationship with a hygienist at a young age, building their independence, confidence and knowledge of dental health. Learning to Care appointments give that special time to your child to begin their dental education with a trusted professional. We make the appointment extra special with a special gift from the Tooth Fairy. We welcome all our patients to bring their brush with them and show off their skills in our full height mirror!

Direct Access appointments for adults not registered at VIDA.

VIDA has direct access hygienist appointments which allow you to have a Classic Scale and Polish without having seen a dentist here first. This works well for patients who feel embarrassed that their teeth or gums do not look their best, and helps patients take the first steps towards rebuilding their confidence and seeing a dentist.

At VIDA you can belong to another practice but still see our excellent private hygienists.
