A dental implant bridge is similar to a regular dental bridge, but it is supported by implants and not by natural teeth. This is ideal because your natural teeth will benefit from being supported by the implants and bridge while avoiding any damage from bearing the load of the bridge itself.

An implant-supported bridge might also be used when your dentist at VIDA is concerned that you might put too much pressure on individual implants that are not connected to each other. For example, clenching or grinding your teeth can put a lot of pressure on individual implants. This can increase the chances that they will loosen from the bone and fail, whereas a dental implant bridge reduces the pressure on your individual implants by spreading it across the entire bridge.

If the implants are placed next to natural teeth, your natural teeth and surrounding gums must already be in good health. We will confirm this in your initial examination and if any remedial work needs addressing before your dental implant bridge can be place. At VIDA, we will take care of this for you as a priority.

If you don’t have enough bone to place and support the dental implants, the supporting bone can be built up using bone augmentation or grafting before the actual implant procedure begins. We have been placing grafts for 25 years and have some of the most advanced techniques in dentistry today for doing this in the least invasive ways.
