If you have missing teeth, or are about to lose an important tooth, and are considering the alternatives to life with gaps, dentures or bridges, you are invited to a complementary consultation with a VIDA dentist who has an interest in dental implants (implantologist).
Our implantologists are happy to share their experience and knowledge with you without any investment from you.
At our complementary consultations we offer general advice about implants and an idea of what’s possible in your mouth. We also provide an investment guide specific to your situation, so you can be sure the treatment you are considering is within a manageable budget.
Dental implant treatment represents one of most important investments you will ever make. However the results possible with dental implants really are great value for money. If you choose VIDA for your implant treatment you will also benefit from the peace of mind of working with experts in the field of implants, with passion for creating natural results and giving attention to small detail.
You may also decide at this stage to look into our finance options to decide on a comfortable budget for your investment. A single tooth implant may be possible for as little as £300 per month over 10 months.

The VIDA team has experts in all areas of tooth replacement, therefore you will be assessed for implants still with all other the options in mind, allowing you to weigh up and compare the alternatives for yourself.
The Design report includes all the x-rays and laboratory work required to plan and design your implant.
The only stage not included in the Design report is the 3D x-ray, otherwise known as CT scan. We exclude this from the Design as it is not clinically necessary in every case and we believe you should only pay for what you need.
It’s important to choose the best strategic location for the implant so we’ll carefully go through this with you and help you make an informed choice. We also involve you in design decision-making, providing a truly bespoke solution to your problem.
We may use wax models of the proposed implant tooth to show you what we think can be achieved, and we take time to explain every aspect of your investment with you. We have many years of expertise to draw on and can provide testimonials from our VIDA patients who have completed similar treatments.
Once we have completed our assessment, we sit down with you and carefully show you your report to ensure you have fully understood the treatment plan and all your options. You take away the report and can return for further discussion if you wish.
We will place a titanium implant gently and precisely into healthy bone. An artificial tooth can be attached the same day if you want to disguise your gap, as you will need to wait three months to allow your bone to fuse to the titanium before the durable tooth is fitted to the implant.
The whole process is comfortable and surprisingly few patients suffer discomfort afterwards, with most patients returning to work within one day.
Implants are placed using local anaesthetic but if you are very nervous your dentist may suggest conscious sedation. You will not feel any pain at the time but you may experience slight swelling or bruising in the week following surgery. Most patients who follow our Care Regime experience few postoperative problems, but we do call you the next day to see how you are and we review you 1-2 weeks later.
The following 3 months is the time your bone grows onto your implant and the implant actually becomes part of you.
We monitor this carefully and when everything looks right, and we can see bone on the surface of the implant, the durable tooth is fitted onto the implant.
You will be asked to attend for regular check-ups to ensure the implant is secure and functioning well. When properly looked after, implant crowns and bridges can last for years, although just like natural teeth these crowns and bridges are designed for chewing, biting and the wear and tear of normal life, so they will require maintenance and replacement.
You make an important and rewarding decision to have a dental implant. It is also an investment. At VIDA, protecting your investment is very important to us and for this reason we provide a very thorough implant maintenance and disease prevention program for all our own implant patients and those referred to us from other practices. This gives you peace of mind that your implant receives the best care in future.
Depending on how complex the treatment is and how good your bone quality is, implant treatment may take as little as four months to complete.
No. Patients who were scared beforehand comment afterwards that the procedure was simpler than they had anticipated.
We will talk you through in detail what will happen before, during and after the implant is placed so you know how things will be. All the planning goes in before the day the implants are placed, therefore you will find the procedure itself surprisingly quick and very unlike a big operation!
We can provide testimonials from patients who have had the same treatment as you, so you can hear for yourself how it feels.
Sometimes we can remove a tooth and put an implant straight into the socket – this is called an immediate implant. However, usually we wait a few months after a tooth is removed to allow the bone to heal – this is known as delayed placement. A VIDA implantologist will be able to explain whether your tooth is suitable for an immediate placement or not, as some teeth and situations will give a much better final result if the area is left to heal before an implant is placed. VIDA patients generally want the best aesthetic and functional result possible and are happy to wait to achieve it; we can usually ensure you do not have any embarrassing gaps even short term. Most importantly, speak to us BEFORE you have your tooth extracted.
No. An implant is as close to a natural tooth as you can ever get, but even a natural tooth could chip in 5 or 15 years time, require a new filling or crown, or need some gum treatment. An implant is no different. As you age, your general health may change and this can impact on dental implants just as it would on natural teeth.
For some people an implant may last a lifetime, but it is more likely that the implant will be in constant use and require replacement at some stage. All implant crowns, like crowns on real teeth, will require replacement. Implants, like teeth, are not fit and forget.
Our 2022 fees are fixed:
£100 for a complete design report.
£2000 for the implant.
£995 for the implant crown.
We include some grafting material in our implant fee as part of the VIDA service. The included material is usually particulate bone and GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration).
Certain grafting techniques are not included and these include sinus lifts, block bone grafts, soft tissue grafting and combinations of these techniques. We are a referral centre and these more advanced grafting techniques are undertaken as part of the more complex and challenging work we do, which takes additional skill, planning and postoperative care.
When more than one tooth is missing, sometimes fewer implants actually work better than replacing every missing tooth with an implant, and this also reduces the investment required.
The very nature of much implant work means we have to wait for implants to fuse to your bone before we finish the restorative phase. This produces a treatment plan that is spread out over a period of months, if not longer. Often patients find this natural spacing makes treatment affordable. Otherwise our finance plans may help you to have treatment when you need it rather than waiting.
